Facility Overview
No matter where your talents lie, the Arts and Crafts Center can help you with all your creative needs. Throughout the year the staff assists members of the Ft. Wainwright community in producing beautiful pieces of artwork, discovering new hobbies and talents, framing family heirlooms and creating wooden masterpieces. The spacious center has everything you and your family will need to keep your creative juices flowing this winter.




Framing Center
Take your commendations, artwork and medals out of storage and bring them to the Arts and Crafts Center so you can display them proudly in a custom frame. The Center offers a wide selection in design, color and price-range to meet your needs. Take a framing class and do the work yourself with the help of staff or let the staff frame them to your specifications.  Framing classes are held the first Saturday of each month at 11:30 a.m. and is required to use framing equipment.
Classes
The knowledgeable staff offers a variety of classes each month for all levels of experience. Stained glass, painting, jewelry making, models and lumin art are just a few examples of classes that are offered.  If you can’t make the scheduled class time, the staff is happy to schedule classes around your schedule with a minimum of two students.
Ceramics and Firing
A full-service ceramics shop is also available at the Arts and Crafts Center. Molds, greenware, pottery wheel and kiln firing are all available for those interested in the world of clay. Bring the kids for a fun afternoon and make something you can take home to treasure. Youth must be 10 years or older and accompanied by a parent.

Special Orders
The Arts and Crafts Center Staff are available to meet your design and production needs for special orders.  Are you looking for plaques, trophies, flag or coin holders? Let the staff create you a custom piece.

Art Supply Store
Whether doing a project at home or in the Arts and Crafts Center, the supply section has everything you need. Paints, brushes and scrapbooking materials are just a small sampling of the supplies available to purchase.
