Keep the whole family busy and physically active during the long Alaskan winter. Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing for all ages and abilities. With snow-making capabilities, Birch Hill is the first hill in the interior to open and boasts the only night-skiing venue in the Fairbanks area. Early bird passes are available for purchase at the beginning of each season.
Don’t have the equipment you need to ski, snowboard or tube? Don’t worry; Birch Hill has a large inventory of everything you need to get out on the hill.
In addition to the skiing and snowboarding runs a first rate Terrain Park has been constructed with mounds, rails and boxes to do tricks on. Alaskans identify Birch Hill as the best terrain park in the state.
Snow tubing is a great thrill no matter your age. No experience or skill is necessary to enjoy the 800 foot run. Simply hop on your tube, push off and enjoy the ride. A lift makes the ride back to the top of the hill easy. A flat rate all day lift pass come complete with a tube. Youth must be 5 years of age and at least 40 inches tall to participate.
Whether you’ve never been skiing before or you are just looking to beef up your skills, Birch Hill offers lessons geared to your needs. Lessons are offered by a knowledgeable and very patient staff. Lessons last for 90 minutes and include equipment rental and lift ticket on Saturdays and Sundays.
Having a wedding, unit gathering or other group function? Birch Hill Ski Lodge can be rented during non-operational hours. With a fireplace, beautiful view and plenty of seating, the lodge has everything you need to hold a successful event.

Youth Ski Days
Holiday and Spring Break Packages are available to keep your children busy. Each package includes three 90-minute lessons, ski rental, lift tickets, Certificate of Completion awarded.
Each year before Birch Hill closes its doors a blowout celebration is held to celebrate the coming of spring. March Madness offers three days of free, fun-filled family activities. Tubing races, ski and snowboard surfing, coloring contests and snowmachine rides are just a small sampling of the craziness that makes up March Madness.
Come in out of the cold and warm up with a hot meal and drink. The Birch Hill DW Grill offers a large variety of meals and snacks for your enjoyment between runs down the hill.
